HopSwap Privacy Policy

HopSwap is a trading-card swap network you use through our mobile apps for iOS and Android. This page describes what we collect, how we use it, and who else sees it.

What we collect

• Account info: your email address, password (stored as an Argon2id hash — never plaintext), and an optional display name.
• Card photos you take in the app: original photos + per-card crops, stored on Cloudflare R2 under your member id.
• Cards in your binder: structured fields extracted by Google Gemini from your photos (year, brand, set, subject, grade, etc.).
• Wishlist entries: precise card references you pick from search and free-form text wishes you write in "Make a Wish".
• Match activity: who you matched with, what evidence the matching engine surfaced, what trades you marked closed.
• Per-match chat messages you send to other members.
• Push notification token for your device, so we can tell you about new matches and chat replies.
• Basic usage analytics (event types, screen views, not your card content) via PostHog.

What we share

• Other matched members see the cards on your binder and the wishes that triggered the match, plus your display name and any message you send in chat.
• Google Gemini receives your card photos and wish text so it can extract structured fields and judge matches. Per Google's API terms, this content is not used to train Google's models.
• Cloudflare R2 stores your photos.
• Postmark sends you transactional email (password resets, fallback notifications).
• Expo relays push notifications to APNs / FCM.
• Sentry receives crash reports from the mobile app.

What we don't do

• We don't sell your data to advertisers.
• We don't share which cards you own with anyone outside the matching system.
• We don't run ad networks inside the app.

Deleting your account

Email hello@hopswap.ai from your registered email address and we'll delete your account, your cards, your wishlist, your messages, and your photos within 30 days. Anonymized matching aggregates may persist for analytics.
